Seventh Body Found in Austin's Lady Bird Lake in 2024; No Connection to Previous Deaths

The latest body found in Lady Bird Lake, Austin, Texas, was discovered on December 1, 2024. This is the same lake where six other deceased individuals were found in 2024. The victim, identified as 73-year-old Thi Lang Nguyen, was recently identified. Austin police have stated that there is no connection between this death and the other deaths discovered earlier in the year.
In addition to this latest discovery, several other bodies were found in the lake throughout the year:
  • In September, a man was seen behaving erratically near East Cesar Chavez and Nueces Streets before he entered the water and did not resurface. He was later found dead.
  • In July, a man was found with blunt force trauma near Rainey Street and was pronounced dead shortly after.
  • In April, another body was found floating in the water about 20 feet from the north shore.
  • In February, a woman's body was discovered in the water.
Despite the proximity in time and location, the Austin Police Department has not found any connection between these deaths.
