Bangladesh Requests India to Extradite Ousted PM Sheikh Hasina Amid Strained Relations
Bangladesh has recently sent a formal request to India to extradite its ousted Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina. This request was made through a diplomatic note, and it has been emphasized that the extradition is sought for judicial purposes. Sheikh Hasina fled to New Delhi in August amid intensifying student-led protests in Bangladesh. The interim government in Bangladesh has stated that an extradition treaty already exists between the two countries, which could facilitate Hasina's return.
